當新聞主播一直是我人生的理想，而沒有想到當夢想成真的時候，煩惱和挑戰才真正開始。
公眾和傳媒朋友一直以為我的主播道路一帆風順，無論是在有線電視還是亞洲電視，甚至是現在的無線電視，一直也予人自信專業的感受。
其實早期的張慧慈在電視熒光幕前表現呆滯，熒光幕後又缺乏方向。後來當我知道美國前總統克林頓 (Bill Clinton)、CNN著名節目主持人拉裏金 (Larry King)、 甚至運動場上的高爾夫球球星活士 (Tiger Woods)、網球明星阿加斯 (Andre Agassi)、荷裏活大導演史匹堡 (Steven Spieberg) 等知名人士都是透過學習 "身心語言程式學" (Neuro Linguistic Programming) 來突破自己，於是我也開始積極修煉這套西方嶄新的心理科學，以加強作新聞主播及節目主持人的技巧。
經過多年的鑽研和實踐，我從這套學問中更摸索了一套有效的溝通、突破自我限制、提升個人成就的竅門。而且這套學問易學易用，並可廣泛適用到工作和人際關係的每一個環節上。
NLP 發展至今已經超過30年，美國《財富》雜誌排名世界500強之企業中大部分已經引入NLP 作為培訓課程，而近年香港及中國內地亦開始大力推薦。
NLP 透過研究人類大腦神經、語言和行為模式的相互關係，去促使個人和企業發揮潛能、增強溝通和管理能力。它是結合了心理學、腦神經學、催眠學、語言學和心理治療學而形成的一門實用科學。
我相信，這套學問在不久的將來，一定會成為每個人的必修科目。
